The Reading Public Schools December Book of the Month is “From Here To There: Inventions That Changed the Way the World Moves.” This title is written by Vivian Kirkfield and illustrated by Gilbert Ford. This collective biography book utilizes colorful and engaging illustrations to share stories about the invention of vehicles from hot air balloons to folding wheelchairs to rockets. The book can be read as a collection of different stories and integrates sidebars and rich enhancements in the front and back cover and in the back matter of the book. A great read for students in grades 3-8, or stories that can be used as read alouds for younger readers.
