Jason Chin’s book “Grand Canyon” (our February book of the month) is a
beautiful book showcasing the ecology, geology, and history of the Grand
Canyon. This book has gorgeous visuals that display the formation of the
canyon by walking the reader through the various rock layers and the periods of
history that formed the layers. The clever cut-outs and rich illustrations
provide so much information for the reader. There are many opportunities
for content connections across history, math, science, geography, and various
writing structures - this book can be revisited with so many different perspectives!
